Hurling

First Year Hurling

Our first year hurlers finished the year on a massive high defending old enemies St. Brendan's Community School, Birr in a thrilling first year challenge.  After a nip and tuck encounter Banagher College prevailed by 2 points on a scoreline of Banagher 4-5, Birr 1-12.  A trophy sponsored by both schools was presented to Banagher Captain Fergal Hanamy by Mr. M. Verney.  We hope to make this an annual event.  Many thanks to Birr for their co-operation.

 

Juvenile Hurling

Juvenile Hurling Team, North Leinster B Champions 2011

Our Under 14 hurlers commenced training in early October with the championship approaching early in the new year. We are reigning champions in the North Leinster Juvenile “B” Competition and this year we are pitted against Postlaoise CBS, Coláiste Mhuire Mullingar, Cistercian College Roscrea and Mountrath Community School. Best of luck to the coaches Mr. Grogan and Mr. Verney and our young hurlers.

 

Well done to the juvenile hurlers on wed 06 March on their victory over Cistercian College Roscrea.
